Handsome Donut went to hell and back: His mother Katie was found on the streets by a homeless family, scared and pregnant. The family took Katie in and she gave birth to several puppies. Some of them died and some were given away. Donut and his sister Buttercup as well as his mother Katie, stayed with the homeless family. We were able to rescue Katie, (WHO IS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME) and Buttercup (at 16 weeks, who has been adopted) from the family but they refused to give us Donut, as they didn't want him to get neutered.
FAST FORWARD: 10 months later, the homeless family decided to dump Donut at a kill shelter. Now, he was full-grown (about 100 lbs.) The children of the homeless family used to play with him and when the parents left Donut to be killed in the shelter, the kids were heartbroken. Fortunately, our rescue was able save Donut, the VERY DAY HE WAS GOING TO BE EUTHANIZED! He was absolutely TERRIFIED in the shelter. Donut didn't trust anybody at first. He has now been with us for a while and LOVES all the staff. He is a total goofball and loves to play with toys and even tried out our doggie pool! Donut loves to go for walks, he's great! He is a silly guy and would love nothing more than his own family with a house and a yard for him to roll in the grass. He gives great kisses and this goof-ball will make you laugh!
